Immaculate Spotlight: UTMB Tank Restoration - Galveston, TX

Our team recently completed a tank restoration project at Galveston National Laboratory. We weren't able to do much prep for this diesel tank, so we manually prepared the surface to avoid sparks. We applied one coat of Wicking Primer and two coats of Polysiloxane. Check out the finished product!

Eibands Building - Galveston, TX

Immaculate is proud to provide exterior concrete repair, waterproofing, and painting to the gorgeous Eibands Building located at 2207 Postoffice Street. This project started with the removal of cracked or chipped concrete and the repair of any loose facade materials. The team will then remove the old joint sealants and replaced them with new waterproof sealants. Finally, the building's exterior will be pressure washed, primed, and repainted to withstand years of the harsh coastal climate.

Historic Clarke & Court Building

Immaculate crews are working hard at the historic Clarke & Court Building in downtown Galveston.

Our team is tuck pointing the brick on the west side of the building as part of regular maintenance. We are also repairing all the spalling facade on the remainder of the building using cementitious repair mortar and sealing the surface with a siloxane sealer to slow absorption of water and humidity.

Immaculate knows that historic buildings take the right materials and the right approach. Contact us about waterproofing or sealing your home or building today!

Pride Crosswalk - Galveston, TX

Immaculate was proud to be a part of the initial effort and now maintenance of the rainbow crosswalk in front of Galveston City Hall.

We painted the original rainbow crosswalk at 25th and Ball and 25th and Sealy streets to celebrate LGBT Pride Month in June 2019. This effort intended to show that Galveston is a welcoming community to all and was privately-funded by individuals in the community (no city funds or labor are used toward the crosswalk).

Today we began updating and refreshing the vibrant colors of the crosswalk. Thank you to all who are involved in this project!

Holiday Inn Club Vacations - Galveston, TX

Immaculate provided waterproofing services to the Holiday Inn Club Vacations in Galveston, Texas. This project included repainting the walls with Sherwin Williams Loxon self-cleaning acrylic.

For the exterior flooring, Immaculate removed all the existing coatings via hand grinders, then applied two coats of Conflex flexible waterproofer with texture to prevent water from seeping into balconies and breezeways.

Sealing balconies is the most effective way to prevent water intrusion to poured slabs which prevents future spalling and structural damage in the future. When concrete is not properly sealed, water makes its way into the reinforcement bars (aka “rebar”) causing rust; the rust expands the metal and creates cracks in concrete, then ultimately large chunks of the concrete become loose, referred to as a “spall.” Spalls have been known to cause major damage inside buildings but also pose a giant threat to structures or people below when not addressed - think “large rocks falling off the side of building!”

Waterproofing, especially on the coast, should be part of all concrete structure maintenance to prevent exterior and interior damage, but also as a line of defense for water intrusion from humidity that can ultimately lead to mold inside.
